Dan Merkley, a Salt Lake native returns after 12 years living abroad while planning and leading operations of the Olympic and Paralympic Villages.
Dan has been planning and executing events for hundreds of participants and more since age 16. His career experience in International Games began in Atlanta 1996, and followed an enriching pathway through Salt Lake 2002, Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014, and Rio 2016.
Dan built his career upon the operation of Olympic and Paralympic Villages. As the Director of Villages in Sochi 2014 and Village General Manager at Rio 2016, he has proven his ability to organize small and massive groups to accomplish huge objectives and fine details – All for essential services and spectacular moments to be shared by tens of thousands of people at a time.
Organizing Olympic Games is hard, but no more challenging nor satisfying than creating events on the smaller scale. For Dan, the chance to plan and operate while “wearing multiple hats” for clients is a rewarding experience, which bring him to his roots.
Don't tell me no, tell me how.
